About the Blogs

As the blogs at hifivision.com are not being used for their intended purpose (i.e. blogging) but rather for posting questions (which should be in the forums), we are considering to disable the blogging feature soon.

If you have any important blogs, please copy/move them to the appropriate forums.

you can make them moderated - with communication that this will not get published if there are any questions asked.

Maybe they need more advertising or a link promoting them? Most would not be aware they even exist. I just happened to view Cranky's profile a while ago and became aware he had even posted something on his blog. Not too sure many would check profiles let alone blogs. Most in fact have just one mentality, come and ask questions, have someone answer them and then goodbye till my next round of upgrades or queries.

Seriously I doubt if anyone would read the blogs even if great content was posted on them barring a few. Most just want some ready information for their next purchase.

Alternatively the blogs could add a whole other dimension to this forum. Where all discussion regarding hifi matters goes on in the forum, the blogs could reflect a more personal angle from each one of the members. Sort of what each person's blog in a site like blogspot would be. Except that it is housed here in HifiVision. That could be immensely interesting and also add a new facet to content here.

I am not sure how much it gels with the content policy here though.

some headers like on top
Blog type:Personal ideas /Collected Info/Experiences/My Equipments

Purpose:"One line clearly describing what is there"



Comment limiting also will be good.

Both points are relevant, blogs give the space to express our self. I was thinking if they aint getting that attention, why not post them in forums and make them a sticky?

this way it also acts as a good place for info bcos all of us flock to the sub-forum to get the information and stickies will always attract.

What will become a sticky again needs to be moderated. I was thinking if any such write-up has 10+ thanks may be we can make them a sticky!
