Look at Denon AVR 1507 and 1707 - both under 30k. It is marketed by ProFX (PROFX - the home theatre specialists). I don't have experience with the new Yamaha receivers but in the past I have found that the entry-level ones are quite disappointing especially in the music department. Also look at Cambridge Audio 540R V3 receiver (Fx Entertainment).

Hey beauty55

I am a big time Yamaha fan, but I agree with particleman - the low end Yam's suck. The RXV 659 / 661 is the lowest starting point where the power of Yamaha comes to light.

The 540R V3 looks pretty impressive on paper at around 30K. Plus it supports HDMI, which few do at that price point.

Hey buddy, i've been checking out receivers too. Hv more or less zoomed into the Denon 1907. While these are pretty expensive with authorized dealers - check out Fairdeal Electronics at Bom.
