Media Player with best picture quality
Hi all, I want to buy a media player and would like some help to decide on it. My sole criteria would be a good picture quality. Dont care much about the netwrking functions or the sound. But it should be able to reproduce the best picture quality. (best upscaling ability) Can ppl who have compared more than one media player please suggests? My budget is 15K Thanks. ![]() In my opinion, without a doubt the AC Ryan PlayOn HD player. You can install an internal HDD inside it, and it even downloads torrents *cough* of Linux etc also if needed. And it has support for a variety of formats.. WD TV Live! is very portable and you can connect external HDDs.. Xtreamer is also popular on this forum... Re: Media Player with best picture quality
wrt media player, I think PQ depends upon the quality of the source and the display.
I have gone through quite a few media player reviews and none of them say about any player that its PQ is better than another. So they should be more or less the same, criteria should be the number of formats supported. However I don't know if any media player has internal settings to adjust PQ from the player (like most DVD players have). Experts please let us know if any HD media players have this feature. |

Re: Media Player with best picture quality
You need an AV receiver, upscalers in media players wont help much.

Re: Media Player with best picture quality
So in that case it does not matter which chipset the player has?
Sigma and realtek both reproduce the same quality of picture? |

Re: Media Player with best picture quality
As per my experience, it does not matter a lot in day today life.. I have seen average quality video from average source where as same player shows awesome quality from HD source. There are so many chips Sigma, realtek, mediatek, Faroudja, Silicon, Anchor Bay to name few. Its practically difficult to compare all and everyone has own flavour. I would say good quality Tvs also do a better upscaling job. So dont worry too much.
