Asus O!Play Mini for 3D Movies
Hello i bought Sony KDL-55HX800 and got sony 3d bluray player with it....I tried to plug my external hard drive with the tv and player, both wont support ntfs file system so i bought Asus O!Play Mini...... Now i am trying to watch 3d movies on this player and there are various types of 3D movies....I can only watch Side by side 3d movie format.... Am not able to watch simulated 3d format movies on Asus O!Play Mini.... Can anyone help on this? Thanks....

Asus O! Mini cannot support all 3D movies. Side By Side 3D movies are just like normal movies. There is nothing 3D in it. Your TV combines both the pictures makes one 3D image. Its not actual 3D but gives you a good feel. For playing proper 3D, you need HDMI1.4a support which none of the Media Player as of now support. HTPC is the only option to play 3D movies provided you have HDMI1.4a based GPU.

I have LG 3D LED and my TV supports all popular formats except DTS in audio. I connect my NTFS usb HDD and play 3D SBS movies. But if the audio is DTS then it wont support.
Like i said earlier SBS movies are just like normal movies and you need a basic media player to play them. For actual 3D BluRay ISOs there is no media player except PC.! Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

You can format your hard drive to FAT 32 using CompuApps SwissKnife v3. That's what I used so my 1TB Seagate drive could be used on my PS3. If you don't want to pay for SwissKnife, let the pirate in you out and search the bay.
My Philips DVD player was able to read and play videos from my 1TB Seagate drive now that it's formatted to FAT. It couldn't read NTFS formatted drives.
