If you are leaning more towards Movies, Yamaha is an excellent option. They have designed and incorporated DSP chips specially for enhancing surround sound in movies. Cheers

I used to own the 440 before using the 640 and then the 661 ( sold all of them, as I switched to stereo). These amps do medium justice to movies but do not qualify well for stereo applications. Yamaha has incorporated the digital home theatre processing well. The best part is that I have never heard anyone complaining about malfunctioning of digital processing in yamaha amps. Their build quality is indeed amazing. Harman Kardon has a track record of malfunctioning digital circuitry (3 friends of mine have an HK). HT beginners can go for the 440 provided they have good powered subs. Cheers.

Hi,
I used my 440 for Stereo setup (with a DIY powered sub). It was wonderful. My final price is 7K. I bought the AV from my friend 6 months back for 11K. Regds, Kalyan.
