At this price...
Its pretty hard to get ... a 5.1 package...Brand New...

And is the 80:20 concept yours or the package...???

Basically whats your budget... including amp...

Anyhow if you add Rs.25K for an amp your total costs comes to Rs.60K...
i would suggest add some more 10K and can get.. a better deal....

Re: Pro fx fusion 5 series

80-20 was my preference.

About budget I am totally confused on how much to spend on what and if not at once in which order to buy the components!! As such the upper limit for AV receiver+ 7.1 speakers is 1L but I want to build a system step by step rather than buy at once. I also researched on few sites about what % for what but they talked about US/Uk prices which are not in same proportion here.

So here are the questions rephrased:
1. In which order should i buy HT components (excluding TV)
2. What should be approx % for which components. Here I would like a split even for the 7.1 components so that I can buy them in a staged manner.

For your pik...

When you say 80% movies...
The % breakup should be as follows...

30% Amplifiers...
35% Front Speakers...
10% Rear Speakers...
10% Center Speaker & Sub...
05% Side Speakers (for 7.1)
10% for Cables & Accessorie....

This above what i have told you is only the audio setup...
But when you are considering a good HT Setup, than you even need to keep aside some budget for Acoustic Treatment...
For which Vinay & Soundsgreat would be great to help & learn from...

If you really are interested in a HT setup, than for your requirements for movies, the following choices goes well...

HIGH END PACKAGE - But WORTH INVESTING

Amplifiers :
Denon - 2308 - Rs.49,000
Yamaha - RX-861 - Rs.43500 approx.

Speakers :
Dali - IKON - 6 Package - 5.1 - Rs.1,85,000 approx.
Polk Audio - RTi Series - 5.1 - Rs.1,18,500

Cables :
QED - Rs.150/mtr - 16gauge
Monster - Rs.78/mtr - 16gauge

AVERAGE PACKAGE - Suits YOUR POCKET

Amplifiers :
Denon - 1907 - Rs.36500
Yamaha - RX-661 - Rs.23500 approx.

Speakers :
Q Acoustics - 5.1 - Rs.75000
Wharfedale 9 - 5.1 - Rs.70,000 approx

Cables :
Monster - Rs.78/mtr - 16gauge...

This is all you can decide, with some more considerations...

Now, the order you should go in...

1st of all get the Amplifier and Front Speakers...
Then get all the cables for your 5.1/7.1 setup, and install them accordingly...

Secondly do in for the rear speakers, center speakers and subwoofer...

Finally go in for the side speakers (7.1)....

Anyways.. i frgt to ask ya..
What is your room...size..

Even that would be a big point to be considered....

Re: Pro fx fusion 5 series

Thanks Mridul for your detailed reply.
Room size will be 22 X 10 (living). The only problem I have in this room is that TV has to be placed on the right and not in center. Hence I may set up in bedroom in which case I will get a 5.1 system.

I guess I will look for something in "AVERAGE PACKAGE - Suits YOUR POCKET" range and later upgrade.
About the receiver I had a question is Denon worth 13K more than the Yamaha that you suggested?
One more thing I forgot was the source which I have to buy before anything else. Which one do you suggest best suited for "AVERAGE PACKAGE"?

actually...
in yamaha after RX-661, its directly RX-861...
so no other model in yamaha....

yamaha rx-661 is almost equivalent to Denon-AVR-1708....

so that was the reason to suggest you the amps with 13k difference...'

regarding the source...
hmm..
these dayz....the top most cdp is Pioneer..DV-90(model not confirmed)...

and do let us know, your source requirements...

Mridul,

Are you sure about this model from Pioneer? I would like some details if you have them.
