Edifier DA 5000 Pro 5.1 speakers

i heard that Edifier DA5000 pro 5.1 speakers are very much near to logitech z 5500 with nearly half the price of logitech

any one using this speakers ?

is this speakers are best 5.1 ones for 7.5k ?

any good 5.1 below 10k ?

where did you get that pricing from?

sorry yesterday went to shop and asked , they said 7500 for da 5000 and said will come at 7000 final price

and for da 5000 pro final price is 9500 - 9700

guys it is an old thread though but has anyone owned Edifier? I am on lookout for a HT system under 10K and DVD player is optional.

the DA5000 Pro is highly recommended for your budget PROVIDED you pair it with an amp. for that matter, any HT speaker system would only perform, say may be half of its capacity without an amp. am using the DA5000 Pro with my PC having xonar DX (which has a very good amp), and the difference in speaker output and SQ with the sound card and without the sound card is striking.

there are two more options that you could look for in case you dont get the edifier. this is from a new company named 'F&D' (or 'fenda'). but their products are really good. those two options are :

1. F5090 5.1 home theatre speaker | 5.1 Speaker System - i have this system hooked up to my TV, and its a beast ! am also going to get an amp very soon to pair it to. really a great system for movies and gaming, but NOT for music.

2. Buy F&D F-6000 Speakers at Best Price in India - Also find Specifications, Photos, Features & Reviews - this also is a good system. i have auditioned it, and performs well enough without an amp too. good for music playback too !

these two could be auditioned at 'MORE' shopping mall. prices may have increased by may be 1k, but would be still under 10k. you could read more about the 2nd set here :

but if you are more interested in edifier DA5000 Pro, and have confirmed the stock-availability (check may be at MD Computers), then i would seriously recommend you get an amp if you dont have (or may be you could connect it to your AVR; sorry, not knowledgeable in this regard). the DA5000 Pro is an all-rounder system, and you would enjoy music too on this if you are not an audiophile

Thank you seekwer, very helpful post, hwoever I am on the lookout for a HT system with / without DVD player and no plans to have any amp in future. Does anyone of these have a remote controlled volume control and moreover I am in kolkata with no idea where they are sold here so online purchase will be a consideration.

Just to give you some info regarding edifier and fenda brands. To my knowledge both of these are chinese brands pretending to be otherwise.
However I own a 2.1 edifier system connected to my pc and it sounds great.

I have recently bought DA5000 Pro for Rs.9000(higher than market price :-( )
But anyways, please advise me how will I get best output out of it? If I connect it to my PC then I should install a soundcard (which one)? And what about amp? I have little knowledge about this. And if I connect it directly to my LED TV then how do I maximize my output. Please help me out here.

Is Asus XONAR an Amplifier? I do not thisnk so
It is a sound card working as decoder..also DA5000 Pro being powered one ,aleady have an Amp ,anh how you can attach amp to powered speakers?
