Regarding Indian Components here is another one :

Notes: Why and where to use dome tweeters ..
Why? --
1)Because dome tweeters are the best suitable for high freq reproduction they have "very minimum resonance effect " as compared to orther tweeters like metal or V cone type
** do not confuge with cheap piezo tweeters with dome tweeters ...they are crap...
produce lott hiss noise and distorted hi freq noise
2)aesthetics wise look better , easy to mount


Where :
1)Use mini domes in ..Mini boxes ...with DVD players ....and single IC Amp
2)Use silk domes with all home theatre speaker designs , BOOKSELF speakers

Kaushik, How are the dainty tweeters? I have a Dainty sub woofer driver with me, accumulated for my failed diy 6 channel amp!

Here we have Dapic tweeters commonly available, about 125rs. However the treble is slightly harsh.

dainty tweeters are ok...not very smooth,with a diaphragm mod will sound good..dapic is for car..china cheap stuff..for car get pioneer original about1k in gray mrk

Please provide more driver and components pricelist and availability. I am looking for building DIY Floorstanders. Since i am a stater i dont want to use very expensive drivers and then repent.

Get familiar with tech terms,choose a few designs ..
then hunt for drivers
Sad part of DIY speaker building in india, sourcing drivers difficult ...dainty speakers are said to very specs by big amount .i even found voice coil touching pole piece in some 5 inch drivers...take 1 driver measure yourself ...

i never tried building because of these reasons ..
however i have got a hint that someone here in india
develops good Q drivers on order ,i am waiting till i uncover that link ...Mumbai market offers contain some good drivers , check asawari (google it) diy project.
