When will be Denon 1611 availablle in India?

Any Idea of the availability of Denon 1611? And possible price?

Here is a snippet from my communication to a Mumbai dealer:

Me: Thanks. One more question: I noted that Denon recently upgraded AVR-1610 to AVR-1611. Is the new model available here ?

Dealer: new model will be available by sept 2010 & appx price rs. 35000/= as 7.1 amp

Me: Hmm.. Are you sure ? That seems expensive. The Denon website shows the prices of AVR-1610 and AVR-1611 as almost identical. So I wonder why AVR-1611 should be so expensive in India compared to AVR-1610.

Dealer: dear, are u in america ? if no then pl do not visit usa sites ?

Thats when I decided to buy it from America :-)

I heard that MRP of 1611 is 32K.

1611 is available at ProFX.

They say 1610 is out of stock - not sure if it is to push 1611 sales.

Denon has stopped production of the xx10 series and only the xx11 series will be available from now on. The prices differ between these series from a thousand at the lower end to a few thousands at the upper end.

The profx site has 1611 listed at Profx - Advanced Audio Solutions.

It says 1611 is 5.1. I was under the impression that 1611 is 7.1.

I think price difference is too much between both the models. I will wait for price to come down

The UK model is listed as 5.1. I guess we are getting the UK model. I was looking for a entry level 7.1 and had almost finalized on 1611.

Is there any AVR at around 30K with 7.1/Zone 2 and HDMI 1.4a? (The US version of 1611 was perfect)

When I asked aout 1610 in ProFX Mumbai, sales fellow told that I have to book 1610 as Denon is launching 1611. I asked about 1611 pricing he told around 35 K!! When I told ur site lists 31900/- how come ur saying 35K ? He had no words. Later on he told that there is difference of 2K between 1610 & 1611.

Specs wise, all remains the same apart from 3D. I feel 1611 is of no use to me as I have Sony V550. Hence will settle for 1610. I hope they don't cheat me by giving old/refurbished 1610.
ProFX is offering 1610 & Polk Audio RM 6750 for 45K. Is it a good price or should bargain further?
