A/V Receiver & Floor Standers

Hi Folks, I visited the Audio Video exhibition at Mumbai and managed to pick up B&W 603 floorstanders at a good price alongwith the surrounds,am planing to hook it onto Onkyo SR705 AV receiver, which beleive is pretty good in performance.

The exhibition was quite good with most of the major brands on display. Just wanted to check if anyone managed to have a peek at this exhibition at Mumbai.

Unfortunately I missed this exhibition . Can I know what did I miss in this exhibition..?

I know sonodyne at Atria, Sumaria at shivaji Park, Croma at Ville parle. Apart from these could you please suggest me some more listening rooms in mumbai?

ProFX (PROFX - the home theatre specialists) has a very nice listening room at Atria mall. Audio Vision India (Audio Vision India Pvt. Ltd.) have possibly one of the best listening rooms I've encountered in Mumbai for B&W, Magnepan, etc. Designer Audio (Designeraudio - Homepage) is currently in the middle of moving into their new basement space so it may not be open yet but phone them to check. At Chowpatti, LaKozy (+91 22 23697001/02) has some interesting speakers (but not a listening room as such). In Juhu you have Boomarang opposite Prithvi Theatre.

I was there at the exhibition, compared to the earlie one, that was a better exhibition with the kind of range and related.

B&W, system i do not know how far it is good, but the people who run this company, from top to bottom are lousy, or should i say cheats.

Are you reffering to the Indian distributors/dealers or the company B & W itself. Please share your views/experience about this company.

Initially i wanted to buy the speakers from them but the owner my muniar was very arogant, and was not comfortable to answer my queries, then he wants me to decide in 5 minutes which one i want to buy, and what not.

I bought from them the dvd rack costing 14,000 bucks, when i told them to come and assemble it they refused, they charged me for the delivery 400 bucks, they say that is the taxi fare, while it should have not been over 250 bucks, these people are petty crooks, and then finally i had to install the rack, and guess what there were 3 manufacturing defects.

I paid them full money for the dvd/receiver stand, when they delivered it had defects and related, they bought the replacement after 15 days, that too was faulty, then after nearly 3 weeks they refunded me the money.

The dvd rack which i bought from them, till today they have not given me the bill, i chased they many a times, but i never got it.

I can assure you that these guys are a piece of shit, the brand which they are selling is very good, but you know they must be using it for their internal and the very piece must be being sold to people like you and me, i can tell you more things also about these dirters, but forget it.

In case one has some service issues, they will show their trule colours, of not attending and what not, and over charging for the service etc.

This owner Mr. Munir, and the senior staff should be bought on the street, and you know what we should do to them.

By the way did you see the pictures of my mini theatre?

I am into trading with stock and commodities market, what about you?

I would like to add that, it is to be understood that if i have had a bad experience with their bombay branch, that does not mean necessarily others also will have a bade experience, but having said that, it is generally belived that if one is foul with one, there are chances that he will be foul and related with others too.

I am pleased to note that you have liked my theatre and the system, yes it is the one in av max magazine, my article was for 4 full pages.

About your suggestion to post my theatre pictures, at the address you told me, i will work on it, thanks a lot jagat on this.

So where are you based in Mumbai? So what's your career like, i am into trading with stocks/commodities.

It is a pity about your bad experience. However for the benefit of fellow users of this forum please could you name the dealership or specific location you had the problem with B&W products at? This way people will not assume automatically that you are speaking of X or Y (who may also be B&W dealers in Mumbai).
