Do you have B&W home theator setup i.e. 5.1/7.1 ch or want to pair your B&W 703 floor standers to 7.1 chl AVR and add rest of the speakers later.

Except the physical appearance, Onkyo 875 is finest from all above listed.

Just got an opportunity to compare Pioneer LX70 & Onkyo SR 875. Pioneer has top specs compares to onkyo including network connectivity, but for both music & movies Onkyo is much better, as my ears say

Hi All

I have been looking around for a receiver for some time now.
After hearing about the HQV Realta VDO upscaler chip that 875 has, I searched for some reviews.
Just a warning for this model. It gets "very hot" "very quickly".
Some people have advised not to put it inside the cabinet. Others have reported sparks and burn-outs, within few days or hours of usage.
Other A/V comments were excellent.

Regards
Raman

HQV Reon is doing excellent job in Onkyo 875! I've just had it delivered. SD upscaling is excellent (i mean visible difference)

Yes, It does get very hot, but not burning hot if you have proper ventilation or enough room for air circulation in cabinet. This cannot keep in an enclosed cabinet. Shame! i'm changing to open cabinet. Ikea bookshelves that's what for open cabinets

How much did you get it for?
I guess it is the European price (Ikea!!)
For me, I would not want my child to fiddle around with the cabinet being open. However I am designing a well ventilated closed cabinet, with a low noise cooling fan at the back.

£845 here, US version should be much cheaper. I'm not sure intelliplug stuffs are available in india, but that would be a good idea to manage the power to fan
