TV for 80K Max
Hi Everyone,
I'm planning on buying an LED / Plasma TV next week and need your advice to buy one. Have visited a few showrooms and have checked out models coming in this price range. Here are the models i have checked Samsung 40ES6800 - 85k Samsung 46ES6030 - 72k LG LM 42inch 6400 - 79K Toshiba 46 VL 20 - 72k Please advice there are more models i should be looking at, almost forgot my viewing distance is 8 feet approx may be more but surely not less. I can extend my budget a wee bit more if it is really worth it. Note: Didn't check out Sony since i always feel they are overrated my personal opinion no offence to Sony owners |

Re: TV for 80K Max
Avoid plasma if you dont want to be stuck with image burn-in and massive reflections, no plasma company covers image burn under warranty, so better go for an LED, the best LED in your budget is Sony 40HX850

Unless you have something personal against Sony, look at Bravia HX750 and HX850. Both of them are superior to all the TVs you listed, 850 eats them all for breakfast:D

You can also check out 42LM6410, which is a slightly superior version to LM6400. LM6410 includes inbuilt wi-fi, whereas LM6400 is only wifi-ready. The price difference is Rs 2000.
I am also scouting for a suitable tv in this range. My preference for LG mainly due to It having passsive 3D, which is the healthier option. All other brands, except Toshiba, have active 3D. Futher, currently LG is offering a 3D BD player + 3D titles + 4 glasses with this model. I am not sure about the magic remote. Can anyone throw some light on this please? |
LG. Hmm if you are okay sacrificing 2D quality ( which you will watch 90% of the time) for 'healthier' 3D that you will watch no more than 10% of the time then yeah its a decent option

Re: TV for 80K Max
For your information a sony led tv priced between 60-70k offers way better pic quality than a lg cinema 3d "World record" tv priced over 1-2 lakh.
Just check some reviews...and demo models. |
