3D best format on Passive: OU vs SBS?

Hi,
To my knowledge, a full HD resolution of 1920X1080 (1080p) video becomes 1920X540 when used Passive glasses.

So if I download SBS format for Passive set, the resolution of 1920X540 becomes: 960X540.

Where as if get OU format, the resolution of 1920X540 stays same or does it become: 1920X270?

Please tell me what is the best format to watch on Passive 3D tv?

OU movies are preferred for passive tvs. But there are full sbs (3840*1080) and full ou files (1920*2160) also.
