Re: Bookshelf Speakers

Hi Saikat,
Good sensible buy which has more than enuff inputs and is reasonably good sounding amp. U can match it with many speakers and be satisfied as its 80 wpc. I hope u have not just gone for it as its a 5 Star product as its a good budget amp not a real cracker( as what HI FI suggests).
Look for some Monitor Audio, Quads, or even the B&W stand mounters. Am sure there will be some good used speakers available so keep ur eyes/ears open.
Regards

Re: Bookshelf Speakers

Thanks dinyaar. A couple of friends in the forum helped with the decision and it was followed by an audition.

Yes, agree with you that its a nice budget amp.

Re: Bookshelf Speakers

Could you please suggest some DIY options and Indian speaker brands?

Edit: Previous post has gone missing. There were some suggestions on speaker options, DIY and niche Indian ones.

Re: Bookshelf Speakers

Good DIY I can think of is Corrson / Acoustic portrait.
Acoustic Portrait
This will take you very high up the chain without breaking your wallet much.
If you are looking at new, pls look at Usher for great VFM. Quad is another bookshelf speaker I can recommend but the cost is around 30k or something.
If you have a chance to go to the US, you can look at GR Research for some great kits.

LOL, I am from that club. Fear not, when it comes to hifi and good sound, follow your heart.

IMO, you may opt for a Wharfedale Diamond 9 / Evo. Or a Tannoy Mercury. Or a Monitor Audio BR 2. Or a Klipsch Synergy.
