Last may in london i saw some super racks(not atacama) for under 100 quid but the aluminium/glass combo was a whopper 22 kgs which would be a little difficult to bring down so am back to scouting locally in mumbai. Though 31 K as someone suggested is pretty steep.
Any more suggestions or links will be helpful.
Regards
Soundsmiths has offered me soilid tech 5 star product from sweden, and sound of vision has offerde finite-element,but these are going beyond my budget,if you have budget you can try them,i checked for mapleshade in USA but the courier charges are more than the cost of the racks,i have checked in singapore and Hong Kong, but they quote international prices and then negotiate, which is possible if somebody meets them personally to negotiate.
regards

Re: hifi racks

Mr Murthy has been helping the audiophile community in Bangalore for decades now by making interconnects, audiophile grade racks, bass traps, power conditioners etc….
I am using his rack (four shelves). Very sturdy. The racks cost anywhere from 8k to 15k depending on what finish / quality of glass etc.. you want. I had mine painted to a high gloss by Mrf – coat.
Number is 0-9880033516
You can refer my name (Vinny).
Alternatively you can go through Prithviraj at absolute phase in bangalore.

I reiterate, settle on a design, show them the photos & our artisans will make a replica for you at a fraction of the cost. Why pay such high costs?

I agree. Importing racks can be quite expensive and the really good ones can cost a bomb.
There are two things to be considered when making a replica locally. The engineering and the quality of material used.
Any fabricator can make a replica but to make a rack which does it’s job apart from looking good, you need to find someone who does it professionally. Once you find one, you can make anything locally.

Re: hifi racks

sunil, you must have seen that all the models i like are in wood, barring quadrasphire all the makers are in metal and glass, actually,i had liked solidtech radius solo and yamamoto OS52,but these are costing more than rs.35000 -40000,which i would not like to spend so i chacked on the US sites and audiogon regarding other manufacturers and came across mapleshade samson, quadrashire Q4 atlantis reference 3,but i have not got the right quote uptil now,so just hanging on.thanks mekr
