No personal experience on Yamaha. Jamo model you are talking about doesn't have clean sound. Wharfedale is good but, I still think Polk Audio wins it.

Dude demoed the 8930s at Croma, the guys no nothing of AV gear, and the pair sucks anyways. I am an expert on speakers however these ones were too muddy at the mid and bottom. May be they are good with movies but music needs better treatment.

By any standards this is a very big room. While I dont know your seating position and how you plan to place yours speakers, I can tell you that your sub will probably not do justice (not at this price) as far as home theater is concerned. I would second Particleman's advice and add step by step. I just hope you arent into bass heavy sound....
