My best ever upgrade was replacing a 120w Sherwood amp with a 50w Cyrus.

I had no idea how rough the Sherwood sounded until I plugged in my Cyrus. Even the audition in the shop had not given me any real idea of just how much improvement I was buying.

Absolutely.

Apart from protecting themselves from the people who might plug their domestic speakers into some kilowatt-output PA system, ending their lives in one short pop, I'm convinced that speaker manufacturers just use these numbers as some sort of decoration on the box! Meaningless.

If you still think you need Big Watts to drive those speakers, talk to the tube-amp guys ... some of them are getting wattage only in single figures out their amps!
Hi Sir, I have already concluded this argument the way you proposed.

These should be great. How much did they cost?

While twisted pair is as good as coaxial for a single independent cable, when you place several different cables near to each other twisted pair can't keep noise away as good as coaxial does. Back-side of an audio device invariably has several cables placed closely, so I won't recommend anything but coaxial. Some high cost cables have twisted pair inside a thick walled (0.5cm) tube. While that keeps noise away, it leads to a bit more capacitance, which is bad for any cable.

Don't bother. People who say that aren't used to before-after comparisons :-).

Slightly cheaper here (but not sure if shipping costs will take away the advantage): Amazon.com: preamp jumpers audioquest

I ordered them off the above link.

Both these prices are good enough considering Audioquest's brand value. The price in India will of course be higher.
