I don't need a blu-ray player!
I have my Sony BDV-E4100 1000 W Home Cinema System connected to my TV via HDMI, and my TV is connected via another HDMI cable to my laptop. In other words, I am using my laptop via TV (to view movies on big screen), and have the laptop sound "travel" to my TV, and then via TV to the Sony System...

My Onkyo receiver emitted a burning smell while ons standby and after that, it's stopped transmitting audio. However, it's still passing through video.
I'm thinking of replacing it...
#6 - Importing receivers from the US
Has anyone successfully managed to import their receiver from the US? If so, how did they manage?
- Did they bring it back themselves?
- Did they get a friend to bring it back?
- Did they have the receiver shipped directly from the seller/site? How much...
Before I start, allow me to confess that I subscribe to the Maximization style (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximization_(psychology)),
unlike the Satisficing style (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satisficing) which probably would've led me to a far happier life ;)

75 W/ch (8 ohms...

Hi everyone. I have decided on B&W CM10 + Centre + Surrounds + Sub (7.1 setup). Now, the issue is choosing the correct way to drive them.
CM10 Fronts are rated as 30-300W. I have no clue where to begin. Even the top most AVRs give 145W @ 8 ohm. Is it sufficient?
