8ohm surround +6 ohm main speakers

I happened to see my friend's speaker setup which is... 6 ohm main speakers and 8 ohm surround speakers hooked up to Yamaha AVR.
The rear speakers are dominating the set up. The sound from main speakers is subdued, why?

There is no issue mixing 8 and 6 ohm speakers. What makes the difference is the impedance. The rear speakers could be more efficient than the main speakers. However, the auto setup should have leveled them. Could you share a screen shot of the speaker levels set?

You shouldn't have any problem driving them. You need to check speaker levels for each channel
