Airtel has launched new STB, which is basically Android TV.

So once connected to your wifi/Ethernet, you can do all sorts of things - youtube, Netflix, Chromecast/google cast. They are also in negotiation to bring amazon prime.

As part of introductory offer, STV+12 months of all channels (HD+SD) are offered at Rs 7999.

At the moment, it's sold exclusively on Amazon. However, it'll be installed by Airtel TV staff once ordered.

I am not sure if it can be used just as android tv, after subscription expires. There are contradicting answers for the same question. If anybody has clear answer to that, please share with us.

There should be an option of one without tv channels,for most who already have a set tob box.

What about Audio quality? Is anybody have it?
Are we getting dolby atmos or true Hd
And how it is compare to Airtel HDR

Compare to HDR it is better. I own it now

It has really poor reviews on Amazon.

I don't think it is worth the money. It is better to get a HD-R and a separate android media player like Mi Box.

That's true but audio quality is superior than hdr

The technician who last visited my place said that they've run out of stock and won't be selling the Internet TV box anymore. He said an upgraded version of the DVR is expected which will be their top model. They've had lot of complaints with the Internet TV box.
