Hi,
Recently, I have subscribed to the airtel DTH. I have connected the DTH SPDIF out to my beresford DAC which outputs to the amp . Most non-HD channels audio gets decoded properly but for HD channels, i hear only a hissing sound. This happens since the digital audio is set to dolby. I checked the STB options but there is no audio setting to change the digital audio out from dolby to LPCM. Other STBs usually provide the option. I even contacted the support, but they told me there is no such option. This STB is manufactured in beetel itself with only a limited set of features.
Is there any other solution to convert the dolby to LPCM?
regards,
vasanth

There is no option of converting Dolby 5.1 to PCM 2.0 in Airtel STB.
But this kind of backward compatibility is present in all the TV's speakers and all the AVRs.

I guess it can be a problem with your DAC which might not support Dolby 5.1 sound. You can bypass the DAC and try to connect the STB directly to the AMP. That should resolve the problem.
