Metrum Acoustics™ Onyx and Jade are siblings of the renowned and award winning Pavane and Adagio digital to analog converters. Technology inherited from these top of the line DACs, make these mid-level DACs phenomenal value for the money and offer a very pure and pristine sound.
Both Onyx and Jade uses 2 of Metrum Acoustics' proprietary Transient DAC TWO chips per channel, making it a total of 4 very powerful DAC chips per unit for a fully balanced signal handling.
This R2R Ladder network combined with our renowned FPGA driven Forward Correction technology splits up the audio sample for each channel into separate data streams and each DAC chip processes a portion of the data in the most linear region of the DAC chip and then combined by our forward correction module to provide extraordinary signal ratio of -140 DB. Also, the dual mono design over the entire frequency results in an extremely high channel separation of 120 DB. This really is a pinnacle of DAC technology in the current time and definitely for some time to come.
