Dear FMs,
I am looking at this Android Box for playing 4K True HD ATMOS movies (50-80GB) from external HDD. On paper this box looks competent.
Android Box. (HK1 RBOX from Bangood)
Should I go for it ? Will i face any issues with it? My AVR is Denon x2400 connected to Sony X9000H TV.
Is Bangood reliable?

Few box’s can do audio passthrough for local content. Then the AVR can take charge of audio decoding depending on formats it support.

Roku ultra can play most of files in Dolby atmos.netflix and prime video works on that.

You have to use coreelec os on it for it to work.

Doesn't support True HD/Atmos. At least from the description.
Check out the Zappati Mini instead.

MI Box supports and will passthrough dolby atmos lossy(DD+) but does not support dolby atmos lossless(trueHD).

Bangood is reliable and I have bought few items from the site.
I dont see TrueHD support on this android player. Also, no Dolby Vision support.
Nvidia Shield TV Pro is yout best bet. Available on amazon.com or newegg.com.

Get Nvidia Shield u wont regret your choice
Been using the shield for past 4years
Sold the old one to our fellow member and got new one as old one doesnt play netflix atmos out of the box
Its a very powerful device :)

I have a Sony X9000F as well. Installed Kodi on it and it plays/passes thru all audio except Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD.
For movies with Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD, I play them through my laptop(using Kodi).
Do not recall any other android device cheaper than Shield TV Pro that supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD.
