AVR starts with mute

Hi,

These days my AVR (yamaha rxv 583) starts with mute, then I need to switch off and switch on the AVR again to get the audio back. Do you have any idea why is this happening? and one more thing please read the below thread, I am facing the the same issue for long time, not sure if anyone has the same issue. But please let me know if you have any solution .

Did you try Factory Resetting the receiver? Does the Mute on Startup happen all the time? Try setting a higher Start up Volume and see if it still happens.

Regarding the drop out, did you try swapping the HDMI cable? I used to have this happen and it was due to the cable gone bad. Replaced cable and all was good.

If it starts with mute,then do you here sound when turning volume up without switching it off?
If yes,then may be initial volumevis set to "zero".You can set to desired level.

If this is not the case,then microprocessor is malfunctioning due to moisture/corrosions.
