Best AV Receiver for OPPO BDP-103.

Considering you have the oppo 103/5 these entry level receivers will leave much to be desired. You got to have a high powered receivers with analog ins i would recommend an older nad / arcam / yamaha with analog ins , forget all about hdmi use them directly with the oppo bdp. Connect the analog ins to the receiver and enjoy.

What does the AVR 400 retail for in India? The option I was going to suggest is the NAD 757 (about 90-95K).
John, I believe he 1010 has been replaced by the 1020 (which offers Airplay and 4K).

I think Arcam would flair well with music as well. For just movies, I think you can consider Yamaha, Denon and Pioneer. I guess Nad/Arcam/Marantz will be a notch above Yamaha, Denon and Pioneer in the music department.

seriously i do not know. Prices for the 720, 820, 1020, 2020, 3020 etc.. will be known only after the shipments are received in India. BTW is there any reason you have to opt for a Oppo 103 vs say a good CD player and DVD/Blu ray combo (like say a Creek's Evolution 2, Audiolab's 8200CD or Exposure 1010S2 which can be had for about 50K and a Panasonic BDT220 or Philips BDP5200 which can be had for about 12K).

Sir, in the price range of the Yamaha 1020 (75-90K) you have the Denon 3313, Onkyo 818 and Marantz 6007
In the price range of the Pioneer LX86 (1.2L-1.5L) you have the Yamaha A3020 (which might be a little more) and 2020 (which might be a little less), then you have the Marantz 7007, maybe the Arcam AVR 400 and the venerable Denon 4311. The NAD T757 can be got a little less and the 777 for a lot more.
You will rarely find two receivers at exactly the same price. A Denon 3313 might run you a little less than the 1020, a Marantz 6007 a little more, etc... pricing changes across countries based on availability, dealer network and margins, and various taxes and duties.
yes, the 820 at 75K is expensive. You might get the older 1010 at the same price. Simiarly expect the 1020 to be arund 90K (about the price of the older 2010) etc...you will similar pricing with the Onkyo 818 vs older 809. I think you get my drift. Marketing is a funny thing, often more perception than reality.
