Guys,

Please advise the best option for a 2.0 stereo listening setup with bookshelves upto 1L for a friend. Willing to stretch slightly above if required.

Will run off of a Rega Brio amp.

Thanks

If Towers are ok, Sonodyne Avant T2 can be considered. Sonodyne speakers are very good for music, price is around 85k for a pair.

If European sound signature is preferred, then KEF LS50 can be considered.

If Ribbon tweeter is preferred, then Emotiva T2+ towers can be considered, they are 4ohm speakers, you need good amp. Rega Brio should be fine.

Can also consider SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers

There are many to choose from. The best option is listen by self and buy. Some more suggestions include Dynaudio, PMC, Xavian, Elac, Focal, B&W and XTZ

All the above are great choices.
My recommendations, if you can stretch the budget a bit, would be:
Gallo Strada
Scansonic

Is your friend strictly looking for "new" or used will do?
Because used you will give double the options to choose from
Choose something which is slightly an easy load.
Then the BRIO will show it's strength.

Wharfedale Linton Heritage might be the only big, 3 way, yet BS speaker in this price range. It comes with quite positive reviews from all quarters. Combining old world character with modern performance, it pleases those with relaxed British sound preference at a budget. Should be about 1.1 lacs with excellent stands.

Rega Brio is a great Integrated Amp! Quad S-2 bookshelf speakers are a perfect match for it. I am using the same Rega/Quad combo. They were reviewed highly by Ken Micalef from Stereophile. They are available with HiFiMart. Do check them out!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. He's going to the US in January and plans to hand carry the speakers back so he is doing quite a bit of reading up now :)

Please go for any HIgh sensitive speakers for Brio R. or elese Brio wil nto drive the spkr at all.
