Hi,
i am planning to buy a new PC to act as my media center.
i do not plan to buy a monitor along with it.
my plan is to make my 29" CRT TV as my Primary display.
also can anyone suggest what kind of setup i will require to create an ideal media center.

You can certainly use a CRT. What you have to watch out for is the connections available in the CRT and the PC you are planning to assemble.

A CRT usually has a component or composite connections. A graphics card has 1 DVI, HDMI, and/or a DisplayPort, none of which can be used to connect to a CRT.

One of the easiest ways to connect is to use a S-Video IF your computer has one. If not, you have to convert a VGA output to a composite or component. For this, you have to buy what is called a transponder. It is a small external box that accepts one kind of signal, and outputs another kind.

Another way to do this is to get what is called a 'TV-Out' card that has the connections needed for a CRT.

Look at this page which gives you lots of information.

Cheers

If your CRT has component in,then certainly possible.
If it has only composite in,then little difficult.
Yes S video on Graphiccard can be used to connect CTR,but cant say it will work always.
Simple reason is "S" video is mostly used for video extension & you will get VGA output by default.
You may need a monitor to config initially & make S video as primary.
There are chances,PC output can go to VGA mode in certain situations.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
