Can Sony HiFi system handle a decent Subwoofer ?

Hi Everyone.
I'm not much into audio stuff, so I'll sound like a layman

I have a Sony MHC - GZR888D Audio System.
It has a socket for subwoofer-out given on the rear.
Now, I want decent bass ... not just the type which i can hear, but also which I can 'feel' (During movies & music).

I'm planning on buying "JBL ES150P" subwoofer.
Will it be compatible with my audio system?
Will i be needing any audio receiver or amplifier along with it ?

P.S - I don't have a JBL Home Audio showroom in my city, so i'll probably be ordering it online, and therefore cannot just go and check it out .... Don't wanna regret it later.

Since this is a "powered" Sub, you will not need additional Receiver or amplifier. It should work with your system.
