CD Player under 10k

Hi Guys,

Earlier I was thinking to use "Sony PS1" as a CD Player but after calling at many places I couldn't find the required model i.e. "SCPH - 1000/1/2" not even a single machine.

So guys, pls suggest me a decent CD Player or a DAC to be used with my current DVD-Player (what it is ?) under 10k suitable for the following configuration of mine :-

1) Amplifier - Norge Concerto Gold 1000

2) Speaker - Mission M35i

3) Speaker Cables - DAC SPK 14

4) Banana Plugs - 4 Pairs Fully Gold Plated Banana Plug

5) Stereo Audio Interconnect Cable (2RCA Male to 2RCA Male) - Profigold PGA 4201

6) DVD Player - Sony DVP-NS728HP

Waiting for suggestions guys.

Pls guide me whether DAC (with DVDP) or a dedicated CD Players is a better option under 10k.

I have finalized the whole configuration of mine by just doing extensive reading of hi-fi forums. I tried searching for my queries before posting this thread, so if anyone by chance finds a thread which has all my answers kindly point me on that direction but I would love if my queries are answered here itself. I hope to have a wonderful time here.

You can get used Marantz CD63 for 8k.

Marantz 63 is a good bet here, have used the 63SE version and is better then the latest budget players from Marantz , Cambridge Audio and NAD.

youll need to buy it here the 7520 . you will get more vfm by using a dac at that budget vs buying a stand alone cd player.

Your options are used Maratz or older Denon or Oppo DV 970 players.

If you have little more time, I suggest putting a wanted ad and getting the PS1 only 2 models SCPH 1001 or 5501 - this has by far one of hte best audio circuits in the whole line of playstations and other CD/DVDP that costs 2 - 3 times the price.

Dervan is the village where I stay(i work in a 300 bedded hospital, which is oddly situated in this village and I chose it because i like to run away from cities). I visit Mumbai and Pune once in 2 months.

I really am a doctor. Critical care specialist to be exact. (completed Critical care training after doing MD Internal Medicine. Now I am heading an 18 bedded ICU since last 2 years)

I came across this CD Player from DNM while surfing from something else.

It claims a SNR of >100db and Distortion of less than .03%.

Can someone from Mumbai take a look at this product as see how it performs? If it meets the specs, and someone can work with DNM to make it improve a bit, this may turn out to be a ideal CD Player for all our members who are looking for a budget CD Player.

Venkat, Yes sir, if the transport side is good, we have lots of DIY masters here who can perfect mods on it to get the DAC side right!

Well price given in mag was 14k as it is all in one.I will try audition when I have time.The place is aprox 1hr from my place.
I may try this wk not sure.
