Confused on setting up a HiFi system for home and car

I was browsing the through the forums on how to setup a home HiFi systems. But the sheer amount of the components makes things hard for a newbie like me.

Preamplifier, Poweramp, DAC, amplifier, bottle head and amplifier, tube amplifier, speakers, active speakers...etc

Is there any guide that we can refer to if we want to know about setting up these systems?

Your standard minicompo CD players contains a preamplifier, amplifier, transport, DAC and speaker. HiFi system means high fidelity system which will give you better quality sound when you play especially louder. The same Minicompo players is broken into several parts as above.
