hi,
i always wanted to have large subwoofer to experience below 20hz content. in india that means, i have to spend a lot to get that. so i designed and built this custom sized marty subwoofer and paired it with a used crown xls2002. built the cabinet with high quality 18mm mdf with 3 sheet baffle wall. i am using minidsp hd for hpf filter and to eq my subs. for less than 25cent the price of pb16 ultra i was able to build this with 115db output from 15hz and up. i have paired this sub with my old rsl speedwoofer 10s using minidsp hd. also using basseq for bass filtered movies, tactile response is really amazing. due to large open living room, room gain does not help much. even without room gain, i am getting flat response from 15-120hz. here are some pics

Nice efforts. Looking sturdy and impressive in black.
Please post some videos while playing. 115db/15hz is wow.
What are the details of woofer deployed?

If you don't mind please post the internal dimensions so that others can also build it.
It is 28inch in depth,35inch hieght and 24 inch wide. It is a custom size i made to fit in my living room, only value that matters is the cft of the cabinet, mine is 11cft box. You can make it in any dimensions,it just has to have 11cft internal volume for this output and driver.

For a newbie all these terms will be very confusing, it would be better if you can post all the dimensions including the port dimensions so that it's easy for them to diy or get it done with the help of a carpenter. A drawing would be perfect.

The dimensions of the enclosure mainly depends on the specifications of the driver. which driver are you planning to use?If you build the enclosure with my dimensions and use different driver,it wont be good.
