Dac recommendation

Hi All,

I was using Devialet 120 an all in one system before with Salk speakers.
I used Roon to stream to Devialet using ethernet.

Just got Luxman 590-AX MK2 integrated and now looking for a new Dac.
I have shortlisted few Dacs, Denafrips Terminator plus/ Terminator and Holo Audio KTE May.
Please share your experience with above Dac models.
Holo Audio May measures very good compared to other R2R Dacs and sounds very organic based on many forums.

Looking for a musical and detailed Dac. If you guys have any other Dac recommendations in similar price range please let me know.

Consider the Bricasti M3 dac at $5500.

I believe LUXMAN offers a DAC Board that can be used with their amplifiers.

Several months ago, there was someone (on this forum?) offering one for approx Rs 1 Lakh.

I think that is accuphase, afaik luxman doesn't have that option.

The Holo Audio KTE May. looks like a serious kit ! I agree with Sidvee. At these price points, the bricasti is a serious contender.

You have a new amp and i guess that you are happy with yr speakers.

This combo will present a particular sonic signature.

Is there something that you would like to add or subtract from that sonic signature ?

I would select my DAC based on my above requirement and the DAC's House Sound ....

(eg Increase Bass, improve PRAT, Reduce HF, etc ? )

I would decide my purchase on the above, and the DAC's sonic signature.

I am curious about something. Why is no one considering Benchmark DAC 3? That seems to be a gold standard in DACs.

You are correct, Accuphase has that option. When I talked to Japanese dealer he suggested an external Dac over it.

One of my friend recommended Benchmark power amp (neutral) and then use a Dac which will give you the
flavor or sound signature needed. But trying all these combination is bit difficult.
Will try to do that.
