Hi friends,
What is to be preferred with respect to best SQ:
Dedicated DAC with separate amp or DAC with in built amp?
This is mainly with regards to PC.
What will happen if we use DAC with in built amp with PMP like Fiio x1 or x3 which has its own DAC?
Regards,

Well a digital amplifier which has a DAC inbuilt and has capability to amplify digital signal is the most futuristic approach. However, the outcome totally depends upon the implementation of it.

PM 6005,7005 marantz...you shall get digital input also....

Yes quality separates are always better, separates power supply, components etc

Pluses and minuses to both approaches I guess. To my mind one major advantage of separates is when you upgrade you can change any component you want to-I am assuming that you for for a decent threshold level set, that is.

Depends on budget too..

If you are looking for convenience and less clutter, you may take a look at Quad Vena also; heard good things about it. There are even more options like Teac Ai-301DA, Peachtree Decco, NAD BEE amps with MDC module etc.

Either way is fine, but if at all you go with an "DAC with in built amp," please ensure it has a line out, else a separate DAC is the best option.

Cheers.
