If budget permits go for Denon x3300 which is having Audyssey multi eq XT 32 feature which is very good for room calibration.

@ diliplp

please be mindful of customs and weight of the AVR your friend will carry.....there could be charges incurred, evaluate all options including warranty and then decide if it is still worth to get it from UK or Indian purchase

If its unboxed hand carry will it still incur customs charge?

If warranty is not issue then ,search Olx ,at same price you will get In India(Denon) ,230v is plus point.

Thanks all for your time and inputs.

He will be carrying in a bag without box, mostly within duty free allowance limits, he is aware of tips n tricks, fingers crossed.

OLX prices are still very much on higher side. starting from 48k, also there are some fake/scam posts too.

I have a 781 which is a 681 with pre outs. Very pleased with sound. It has YPAO which does same as Audyssey. Not impressed with Dolby Atmos but dts:x is quite good

Ok, thanks for your input, I liked yamaha auditions too, however for now getting Denon, let's c.

Finally ordered Denon X2300W, receiving in this month end. will use existing edifier speakers for now.

Guys, pl suggest 5.1 speakers in 30-40k price range.

TAGA 606 would be ok with this ?

Start with two good front bookshelf speakers for the budget you got. As time goes by you can plan for the rest. shouldn't regret the hurry purchase. This is what many suggest and I did the same some eight years back.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
