Belated birthday wishes to Mark Knopfler... may he continue to create beautiful music.
I am one of the biggest fans of Mark Knopfler who toured India in 2005. I drove down to Bangalore to attend the concert at Palace grounds in Apr 2005.
I will not forget the Mark Knopfler night for the rest of my life! How on earth can a group of 5-6 people produce such mesmerizing music!

‘Dire Straits: The Studio Albums 1978 – 1991’ will be available as 6CD & 8LP BOX SETS on 9th October.

Great songs & guitarist. Favourites are Calling Elvis, boom like that, money for nothing & heavy fuel.

I was there for this concert and remember it so vividly! No fuss or stage theatrics - they just went about producing one gem after another. The best live show I've ever been to :)

Anyone placed a pre order?
I've got the same vinyl box set from when it was released in 2013. A no-brainer must have if you love DS and MK :D
Pressings are fantastic

Shipping in October. Hopefully good pressings
Read somewhere this set uses the 1996 Bob Ludwig remasters. These are fine for what they are, but they are inferior to the original CD mastering.

It’s a repress of what they released several years back
The set, which was previously issued as a vinyl-only set back in 2013.

6 CDs for £15.99?? That's crazy.
Some error on the site. It's 6 LP set, not 8.

Pretty good price for the CDs, I ordered mine through udiscovermusic.

6 albums but 8LP vinyl set... the CD running order with full length versions of the tracks have been restored to Brothers In Arms, now presented as a 2xLP set, as well as a double vinyl of On Every Street.

After looking a bit closer at the picture on the set i’m wondering if anyone else noticed that they used a font that wasn’t used for any of the included studio albums but for “Alchemy”.

Somehow, missed this thread.

Is the pressing really special, I do have two of them as well as the Alchemist and the SACD version of Brothers in Arms.

This box set was pretty decently priced - I almost bought it when i realized i had 4/6 albums already. I had been putting off the remaining 2 because of high prices, but then, buying them at those prices was still cheaper than this box set so went ahead with that

For books/CD/BD its a hit and a miss. Sometimes you get charged but many times esp. if the value is less than 5k you dont charged.

@hydrovac and @rsjaurr - where you guys charged any customs duty on this?
Thanks. I am tempted to order. Would be loathe to pay customs duty though :)

After a closer look.... a bunch of six declaration sheets were attached to the parcel for customs purposes i suppose, no duty was collected though.
