Here is the latest incarnation of LED Emergency LAMP.

Technical Specification:

3W LED Warm bright light x 2.
Color temperatures (K): Min. (2500) / Typical (3200).
Viewing angle: 120 degrees.
Light output: Up to 251 lm @ 6 W.
Lamp continuous running time: 2-3Hrs.

Battery, 3.6V Sony LiIon with built in over charge protection circuit.
Battery charger, mobile charger having 5V, 890mA rating.

Now a days all major states in India suffer a lot from freq. power cuts, so thought of just sharing this, may be someone find this useful, Its a high quality emergency lamp
last for many years..and very simple design as well which does the purpose.

That cabinet is actually for SMPS, you can find that in the electronic shops.
Total cost comes around 350-450INR. But not with that battery i have used. That batt. itself costs >2K, I have few such batt. spare with me so just used for this purpose. You can use any LiIon batt. having 3.6V 1200mA above or mobile batt. will do the job fine since those are high efficient lamps.

I don't seem to be able to open the link... may be it's not active any longer. Can you please update or post them here? Also can we scale this up? Like something enough for replacing the normal 40W tubelight (with / without the battery)

Yes udaykhan,

It can be used to replace 40W tube light easily.

4 such led will be almost equivalent to a tube light and its better performance comes when we bounce it's light.

Eg. Should focus the light on the ceiling then it will give a very nice ambient light.

I personally prefer warm white which really gives a luxury feeling.
