would like to hear about Energy Take 5 channel system.

Do you think Pioneer SW8 or Polk PSW10 will make a good fit.

I have a Pioneer VSK-821K.

Also, can a pair two bookshelves replace two of satellites in the Energy system.

I have the model RC-Micro 5 channel system brought from US. For the movies it is very good the smallish speakers with my Jamo sub200. But for music it is very bad. Hence I brought a pair of Yamaha NS-F140 floor standers and replaced the RC-Micro as 6 and 7th channel speakers. You can do that if you want to have the music/movies from your Pioneer receiver. Otherwise the ETC will be very good for movies alone.

thanks

Thanks for helping out.

Even I am thinking of ETC and Jamo Sub 210.

ETC seems to have good reviews. It seems to produce fuller sound.

Subs - Pioneer SW8 or Polk PSW10 or Jamo Sub 210.

Pioneer and Jamo are the 8 inchers while Polk is 10.

They do not seem to have good opinion.
Most AV sites are ga-ga over these speakers.

My alternative is
pair of Polk Monitor 30's Bookshelf for front, Polk CS1 for center
pair of Polk Audio OWM3 or use 2 Energy Take satellite for rear surround.

This set up will cost me more however.

Decisions, Decisions.

I am importing so I would like to have smaller size for reduced shipping cost.

The only reason I got the RC-Micro series last December is the superb price ($160) and very less weight for somebody to carry in the check-in luggage. I can say that for movies they are the best satellites to beat in the current market for the price. But not so for music, hence later on you can go for the FS for the front LR channel and use the ETC as 6th and 7th channel. They are very good as surrounds for movie playback.

Thanks

JBL Cinema 500 - Any experiences?

Each satellite has two 3-inch drivers. Sub is bit small but fine for me.

Paradigm CT100
Deftech PRo cinema 600
Klipsch Quintet or HDT 500
Polk Blackstone 1600

Try these out. They should be available locally in chennai.

I feel Def Tech ProCinema 600 is way too expensive and too small satellites.

Def Tech ProCinema 800 sounds much better with its 4.5" satellites.
I looked at them side by side, 600 looks like a mini version.

I looked at Klispch quintet set, not impressed.

I will take a look at the Polk 1600 set. I have seen them but not tried.

I have not seen Paradigm in stores yet.
