HFV Gurus,

After about 4 weeks of rigrous RnD, going through your posts/past experiences, lot of technical reading and demoing multiple 5.1 systems, i have finally decided on my HT package (99%) unless you guys think otherwise. My budget was 70K and fortunately, i have been able to find something around that. :yahoo:

So as long as you guys disapprove this combination, i am going ahead with my choice. Please feel free to provide your valuable inputs:

AVR: Denon 1713
Key specifications : DLNA Certified, front USB port, 6 HDMI inputs, Dolby/DTS decoder, 3D Passthrough, 8Ohm Impedance, 120 watt output (b/w 20 Hz to 20 KHz) :clapping:

Front Left & Right Surround: Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers
Amplification Type: 2 way Passive, Response Bandwidth: 53 - 25000 Hz, Input Impedance : 8, Sensitivity: 89 DB, CrossOver Frequency: 2500 Hz :clapping:

Centre: Polk Audio CS10 centre channel speaker
Amplification Type: 2 way Passive, Response Bandwidth: 53 - 25000 Hz, Input Impedance : 8, Sensitivity: 91 DB, CrossOver Frequency: 2500 Hz :clapping:

Sub Woofer: Polk Audio PSW110 Powered Subwoofer
Active Amplification with 100 Watt power output :clapping:

Rear Left & Right Surround: Polk Audio OWM3 speakers
Amplification Type: 2 way Passive, Response Bandwidth: 80 - 25000 Hz, Input Impedance: 8 Ohm, sensitivity 89 DB, CrossOver Frequency: 2500 Hz. Ceiling Wall Mountable (I have a constraint of hanging the rear L/R surround on ceiling due to acoustic limitations). :clapping:

What Say??? :D

What is your room size?
The only thing i feel that can really take your setup to the next level would be to spend a little bit extra on a better subwoofer.. trust me it makes a huge difference! :)

spend a bit more on the fronts with the RTi bookshelves.. will be worth it.

Quoting the price of my combo:

AVR: Denon 1713 : 31592 INR
Front Left & Right Surround: Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers : 10560 INR
Centre: Polk Audio CS10 centre channel speaker : 8800 INR
Sub Woofer: Polk Audio PSW110 Powered Subwoofer: 13200 INR
Rear Left & Right Surround, Polk Audio OWM3 : 10560 INR

-Neeraj.

-My living room size is about 12 beradth*14 length.
-I do have a wall on left hand side but no wall on right hand side of seating loaction.
-No wall behing my seating location, instead i have around 8 feet passage area and then a wall. That being the reason i am going for a in-ceiling rear surround which will be approximately 9 feet above the ground level.

Given your room dimension/seating location, I think what you've chosen is good enough for the budget. If you can increase a bit, go for PSW125 which has slightly more thump thant PSW110.

Enjoy your setup!

YOu might want to get better fronts. TSi100 work well as surrounds but to use them as fronts.............not so sure.

HARMON KARDON AVR70 receiver + HKTS 9BQ = 38K . IS IT WORTH BUYING THSI SYSTEM . HOW IS AVR70 ??? ITS URGENT . BUYING IT TODAY ...

Please steer away from HK receivers, stick with Marantz, Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha for AVRs.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
