Firestick 4k and normal firestick

Brother carrying his firestick 4k from US here. His question w. will it play local content? and will it work properly in India. The amazon website says that it will work in India but only 2nd edition firestick . maybe its not updated but if anyone has experience it will be helpful. He has 2 and wants to know if he can get it here

I have fire stick 4k and amazon cube, both brought from US and work as expected. Only thing you need to do is change country setting to India on amazon site on the web, in case of doubt contact cc over chat.

YouTube, Netflix, HotStar, Sony Liv all work for me.
