Dear Friends,

I am having a pair of MISSION M35i with CAMBRIDGE AUDIO 651A.
It is producing an extra BOOM, which is not at all desirable, the rear port of the speaker is ONE METER AWAY from the rear wall.
Please help./......:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

First, did you block the ports and try?
If yes, then google "Corner Bass Traps".
That is what you need, if it still booms.

You have couple of options.

Move the speakers away from corners, towards the center. Are there any other objects right in the vicinity of the speakers? like cabinets, TV or any other thing? A picture of the setup would help.

Second choice would be to use the bass control on your amplifier and bring it down 2-3 db and see if it helps.

Once you have identified the issues, you can work to get the bass traps / acoustic treatment to tame the bass.

I am having two source:-
1. Rega RP3 turntable.
2. Marantz 5004 CD player
In the both the cases, I am getting the BOOM

May I know which cable are you using? Also you can upload pictures of setup and it's surroundings.

Could you please post a picture of your setup - if your speakers are too close to the corners, there will definitely be boom.

1) move the speakers away from walls/ corners
2) plug the rear ports tightly with sponge
3) the most difficult part - start room treatment

not tightly
loosely

tightly will cause an adverse effect

many clients use polyfill to stuff the port - otherwise an old sock will do too
