Hi there

I have the following setup

Project debut 3
Wharfdale dimond 10.3
Denon pma520ae

So I moved house and unpacked my stereo, I am certain it is about half the volume it was before. It also sounds a bit tinny though still pretty good.

Is there anything obvious that would cause this?

Many thanks
Jonny

Hi Jonny,

Does your amp have this problem with other sources as well ?

Have you connected your record player to phono ?

Did you pack your record player carefully when moving ?

Do two things

1. Connect CD player/computer/some other input to the amp
2. Is it possible to plug in some other speakers to amp

This will help you to locate the source of your problem.

If everything else is fine then it has to be the acoustics of the new room !

+1 probably it's to do with speaker positioning , room size, seating position , furniture. Any and all of the above can effect the perceived volume levels due to reflections. Also Just a 40 % increase in listening distance from say 7 feet to 10 feet will cause sound levels to drop by 50%!
