hi to all of u, seek all sound gurus blessings

in the beginning was the word , and the word was with god and the word was god.
hope that makes the importance of sound and word, clear enough

a. Budget : I HAVE recently purchased LG 42PW450 42 inches 3D Plasma TV. MRP Rs. 69990 Zero Margin Price Rs40000/-

my budjet is 25000 + up to 30k including all cables, etc. which includes all speakers, receiver, amp, etc, basically looking at , Philips 3751 or onkyo 3400 hts (HTIB) ; it should be 3D compatible and provision for attaching a blu ray player in future( I apologise for my lack of technical knowledge, so some of my queries may look absurd)

b. Listening tastes : my priority is MOVIES 70 : MUSIC 30 , Indian and western instrumental, classical vocal, original sufi, and some fun songs like Dhoom series for parties occasionally.

c. Listening area : MY living room has 20 feet by 20 feet hall with two columns in between , + sliding glass window of 16 feet width by 6 feet height. There are four doors spread opposite the big sliding window. Flooring is vitrified, I have a false ceiling, + dining table of 8 seats rectangular, big sofa set of 3+2+1 very large in size. One drawback is due to huge size , airconditioning is out of my budget . My Distance from screen is adjustable between 12 feet to 15 feet. To my couch .

d. Systems already selected
My shortlisted system are
1) onkyo 3400 hts,
Or
2) one out of the following Philips systems
- Hts 3571 -1200 watt , 2009 model- 19990/- ,
- Hts 5550 25990/- 3d angled speaker, double bass tech , 3d angled, 1200watt,
- Hts 5540 23990 3d angled speaker 1200 watt
- HTS 5530- 16990/- , 3d angled speaker. 1000 watt

Our ex-moderator |Bullram, has praised 3571 , so kind of inclined towards brand Philips.

Re: Hi from a Vishal, guilty 4 a long question, thank u in anticipation all fellow memb

why dont you audition some 'real' systems instead of these stupid htibs. search on these forums and get addresses for dealers in mumbai. If you go for htibs, you will soon be bitten by the upgraditis bug. if you cant afford a full ht system, just get an avr and main speakers for the time being and add more speakers when you can.

PLII processing is for systems up to 5.1 speakers. It converts 2-channel material to 5 channels.

PLIIx processing is for systems up 7.1 speakers. It converts 2-channel and 5.1-channel material to 7.1 channels.

+1 to this! ..

For the space you have .. just get a good amp or even a basic amp (denon1611 or 1311) and get Floor standers for now and upgrade from there. The Denon's are going cheap now .. at around 17K for the 1311 and 22-23K for the 1611.

The Jamo 606 is around 28K .. + cables 2k .. will be a great start .. :D

Think about it.. Welcome to the confusion, perseverance, patience and excitement that is HFV:D ..

Cheers!

Welcome to hfv.

Since your maximum budget is 30k and your preference is movies over music, you can definitely go for the onkyo 3400 model. It is 3d capable and supports hd audio. Another option is to buy an avr like denon 1611 now and upgrade step by step.
