how to make the room sound proof

pls help me..how to make my room sound proof...
already am gonna spend 20-30k for the home theatre ..
what about ACOUSTICS........
a normal creative speakers 2.1 is itself making more noise and is audible to other rooms..
if i keep a 5.1 ...then ?????/

Where are you spending your money (20-30k) on? On room treatment or buying electronics?
Try to seal all open openings like ventilators, the gap between floor and doors and windows. What are you windows made of - glass or wood?
What sound you hear from other rooms? Is it only bass thump, or more of voice or the highs? This will help decide what type of leakage you have.
Some amount of sound energy will always escape from our normal rooms unless it is very heavily treated.
