Is there such a thing as the perfect alarm tone? We think so (and this is what it might sound like)

An effective alarm is one which should minimise ‘sleep inertia’ – that stage of grogginess we feel between being asleep and becoming fully alert.

Few key features that I have come to appreciate:
1) Alarm should gradually increase in volume with passing time
2) Alarm should not have jarring sounds and screeching high frequencies
3) Alarm should have a musical pattern

All these features in an alarm put me back to sleep

I am also always on the look out for good alarm sounds and notification tones. I hate the dafault notification tones for team. Have not found which suits my need.

I use sounds from an app called calm. Google clock has that baked in not sure if you have ios it will allow you to change sounds or only apple approved sounds can be set to alarm

For me my ringtone "Funky town" works best. I am so accustomed to it, no matter how hard I am asleep, it wakes me up. On my other phone, the ubiquitous "old-phone tring-tring" is quite loud and gets me up. To me all the above listed tones look and hear similar,
