Isolation and Vibration Control

Most know this is a highly debated topic and is purely subjective
This thread is NOT for debates

We believe that a loudspeaker or electronic equipment should actually be "isolated" from its surroundings (vis a vis isolated from vibrations, mechanical movements , and even micro vibrations from associated other equipment in its proximity)
Many a time members of this school of thought use Solid devices such as Spikes and Ball points to achieve the above
Some even use a combination of both
the Stillpoints,Ceraball,Symposium Roller blocks are good examples

Many who swear by the above do not believe in use soft spongy dampers like silicon and rubber based polymer products because they tend to bloat and muddy the presentation which disturbs the separation

the other school of thought tends to "couple" the speaker with the stand.They would like the isolater to drain vibrations rather than transmit or repel them
The Agora Acousitcs Magic Hexa is a good example.and so are the magnetism isoalters

The ceraball cleverly uses both concepts

Heres our take on ball isoation
using a ceramic ball and silicon Oring dampers

Very nice Ali, I am interested in the ceraball (or cerapuc) in the 4th and 5 th pics. Can you post its dimensions.
Cheers,
Sid

the 4th and 5th pics are the top end offerings by finite elements
they are known as the cerabase ( used for racks and heavy power amps / intergrateds)
these are height adustable
and these are the items commisioned by FM bhagwan aka shanti
only the prototypes are done
the CNC shop is overloaded so we will have to wait for the real thing

the ceraball is the 2nd and third (used for source equipment TT's,CDPs dacs and pre amps and smaller intergrateds )

the 1st and last is simialr to the junior symposium roller blocks
but a new version is in the pipeline

@SUD98

the materials they ( Auralex ) use to make their patented "isolation" devices are nothing but combinations of commonly found industrial absorbers and dampers put together in a clever and unique way (yes i do understand and believe they must have gone through a some testing to get the combinations and the density right )

if you are really intrested in Auralex products
we can manufacture them right here\
no problem

we already have one of their gamma kits with us for refernce

Thanks Ali, do keep me in the loop, when they are done. Looking for footers for my SL Kraft amplifier, and most of the other footers are too small for the amp.
Cheers,
Sid

Always interested to use them too. My system is quite revealing and I hope to be able to discern their input when I can try them. Thanks!

Sid
You have always encouraged me
I try to keep you in the loop always

Staxx\
will include you too when bhagwans order is being processed

the ceraballs
we call them isopods
are already in stock and availble with some dealers
if you want those ping me directly

sid
the cerabase type isolaters are just out of prototype
when they are production ready i will inform you and staxx

I'm interested in a set of the baby roller blocks. I have the original symposium rollerblocks as well so it would be a good thing to compare both.

Ooh- these are super nice! Could you pm me the prices? 1 &2 seem especially attractive. Congrats- and do post the finished prototype's pictures!

MAN!!
i have been looking for someone with the original set of JUNIORS
i have the original symposium roller blocks but not the juniors

do you have the juniors or the rectangular originals ?

Unfortunately even I have the originals not the juniors :(

@sidveen and Staxx
all who were intrested and sent PM

the Cera Base Compacts will be ready by the weekend for delvery

they are currently in Lazer engrave

here are some sample pics
the smaller one (i.e compact is what has been made)
2 variants

one is in Stainless Steel
the other is a composite of SS and duralium ( polymer )

both feature anticarbon bases and isopad tops
and hold zirconium nitride balls

both feature height adjustment

Hopefully
FM bhagwan will post some pics with his equipment and his opinions later

Lot 1 - Cera Base
made for and commisioned by fellow FMs

Brilliant;

Magma - Well done.

Worth the 3 month wait.
I hope to get my hands on them - soon.

I will use them this week end & replace some of the Alto Extremo's I have.

The Black are 'mine' & do not give to anyone else. Please..
Also the ones with the 'd' are for me...

Thank You.

thanks MBJ

sid's taken some and so has sam.and a couple other gents in mumbai ( you probably know all )

yours have been put aside

huh?

these are the finished pieces
dont you see my name engraved - SoundFoundations

Sir,

That post is dated 1st July i i.e. 2 + months back..
Therefore he asked for finished pics;

http://www.hifivision.com/press-rel...on-control-soundfoundations-2.html#post507795

All have been waiting for the 'proto' to finish & become a production reality;
So now, sample sets can be sold to FM's & let them post pics of the Compact below their gear & possible write about any change in sound;

:cool:
