Last year Toshiba came up with a "Hi-Res" cassette deck which claimed to deliver hi-res audio from a tape. Initial reviews were underwhelming calling it a gimmick. Manufacturers seem to be looking to leave no stones unturned to get something going in their favor

This never took off due to its limitations. It's just another laughing stock!
