Hi Everyone
Wish you all a very happy new year!May this year brings all your dreams come true.
From today, I have been starting my journey to set up a decent setup to watch movies on big screen.
My this setup will be not for impress people or get appericiation from guests visiting home. Its just for me to give me happiness.its just for my love & passion for films.
I couldnt watch movies on TV..as Realt theatre is only when in darkness, light throws on blank screen & that screen got alive..& we see dancing, singing pictrues..It MOVES you , thats why we called it MOVIES. World's costliest pasma tv or 4k Tv can be more clearer or crisper but the picture cannot compare with Graniness of screen..Its my personal experience.everybody else is free to have different opinions.
So now From this Jan, 1 ,2016, I started a small step towards my journey.I hope fellow members will give their valuable advice whenever required.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thanks

Let me answer all your questions :)

Hi Aditya bro & other fellow forum members
So now journey started for making a decent HT system .
I am sharing my research & asking my queries in different post so it will be easier for ppl who will need help in further..I will post one component of HT in one post..
So first start with
PROJECTOR
I have researched 2 projectors..
1) optoma 141x -used by aditya bro
2)BENQ-w701080 p

Buy BenQ W1070 1080P 3D Home Theater Projector (White) Online at Low Price in India | BenQ Camera Reviews & Ratings - Amazon.in
amazon india, its available at 81k
at amazon.com, its available at 832 $
Robot Check
optoma- mazon india..its 65k
Buy Optoma HD141X Full 3D 1080p 3000 Lumen DLP Home Theater Projector with MHL Enabled HDMI Port Online at Low Price in India | Optoma Camera Reviews & Ratings - Amazon.in
Amazon.com: Optoma HD141X 1080p 3D DLP Home Theater Projector: Office Products
in amazon.com, its 757$

1)So Aditya bro has Optoma..so I will go for OPTOMA..but I would like to know the view about BENQ also..as both have 75$ price difference..so please suggest
2) So I will go for amazon.com..But I am worried if some technical peoblem, how will we solve it without warranty..some people bought from there , it gave me some courage..
3) now main problem is payment..I have a ICICI Debit card.. I asked my bank..they said my card is eligible for international transactions..So I have to try it again on AMAZON.COM site & lets see..
will update you further

Regarding Projector, I cant talk much about Benq coz I havent got a chance to demo that, but read some good reviews about it as well,
Optoma is the best by far for that price range , since i am using it from past 1 year I can confidently say that you can go ahead without any second thought, but u MUST have a 1 KVA UPS for the projector atleast maintain it for 1 year :) The Optoma India is ready do any kind of service but chargable, so just protect it as much as you can, the warranty from the manufacturer is 1 year only, so after that you have to get the paid service only if anything goes wrong. Just protect it as long as you can. Optoma India is ready to provide any spares or service without a doubt. I spoke to them personally.

Cheers,
Aditya

No investment has given me as much happiness as my HT. You talk about the picture on the screen - but the pleasure that is derived from a good surround system is also priceless. Together they take you to another world. Good luck with your journey. It doesn't matter if the setup is big or small, expensive or inexpensive - what matters is that it gives YOU happiness. As they say, it's all the same when the lights are out ... :)

Now PROJECTOR Screen
My room is 13* 11.5..so distance between screen & projector must be 12 feet..
it gave screen size 101inches dioganally..& 88*50 is length & wide..
I am sharing some screen for helping of fellow members..if its against forum rules, moderator can delete it..but I am just sharing it for helping purpose
100" 16 9 Manual Projection Screen Pull Down Projector Matte White Home HD Movie | eBay
100 Diagonal 16 9 Electric Projector Projection Screen Remote 1 3 Gain 160 Angle | eBay
Elite Screens DIY Pro Series, 114-inch 16:9: Amazon.in: Electronics
Inlight Map Type Projector Screen, Size: - 8 Ft. x 4 .5: Amazon.in: Electronics
Inlight Wall Imported Autolock: Amazon.in: Electronics
Inlight Wall Imported Autolock: Amazon.in: Electronics
Inlight Wall Imported Autolock: Amazon.in: Electronics

so now my query are
1) my room is 13*11.5...distance between screen must be 12 feet..so Site given by you doesnt show optoma 141 calculations..It did show 131* calculation
Optoma HD131Xw Projection Calculator - Throw Distance and Screen Size
its showing diagonal 101, height 50inches & wide 88 inches( 7 feet 4 inches, 4 feet 2 inches)
please check, if its right
or what you suggest from distance of 12 feet from screen..whats would be the projection size?
2) I have find few options in 16:9 size..
one is- 8 *4.5 . 106 inches diagonally
next is 9*6 , 116 inches..
another is 92*52, 106 inches diagonally
which size would be perfect
3)
I am confused that screen should be exact size of projection...or can we buy slightly bigscreen from projection size.. ???
3) I have got some brands mentioned above..Please choose & tell me which one will be better?
Thanks

Below is the link for HD141X
Optoma HD141X Projection Calculator - Throw Distance and Screen Size
Any of the links that u show is fine dude. If u have any doubt get a 106" screen, its not a problem to get a bigger screen, if u get a smaller one then its a problem. You will have a zoom on the projector to adjust.
Just calculate the width of the screen and make sure that it fits on the wall where u want to hang it.
My suggestion would be , get a 106" screen and adjust the zoom on projector.
My screen is same as the first link that u have given.

Cheers,
Aditya

Absolutely correct :)

BLUERAY 3D PLAYER
As you suggested, I researched region free BD 3d PLAYER
Pioneer BDP 450 3D 2D Region Free 3D BLU RAY Disc Player Rare Model | eBay
Panasonic 3D DMP BDT270 2K 4K Multi Region ALL System BLU RAY DVD Player | eBay
Sony Region Free Blu-ray DVD Player 4K 3D WiFi multi region code free BDP-S6500
Panasonic DMP-BDT360 Region Free Blu Ray Player Code Free DVD WIFI, USB, 3D, 4K

but player which comes with 3d blueray & reion free are costly
Our PHILIPS bd2190 IS AROUND 7K..& they all are three -four times price of this player
.Though i want to play those region DVDS also, But its very costly affair
so Right Now, i can adjust with this BD player & bought oNLY THOSE BD which are region free..
after some time, I can buy some BD player from USA.. they can play their REGION DVD..As I calculated buying multiple DVD player is far more cheaper than buying region free dvd player
so now 90% I have decided for Philips BD2190 BD 3D player..but further suggestion is still welcome
thanks

No Second thoughts .... just go for Philips BD2190 :)

Cheers,
Aditya

Hi
Now Came the most important component HT SYSTEM WITH AVR
I have researched some according to my budget.
Onkyo TX SR343 5 1 Channel A V Receiver | eBay
Denon AVR X500 A V Receiver 5 1CH 140W PER Channel 4 Hdmi IN AM FM HD | eBay
Denon AVR X500 5 1CH AV Receiver With Hdmi Front IN | eBay
Denon 5 1 Channel AV Receiver Black AVR X520BT | eBay
Denon AVR S500BT 5 2 Channel AV Receiver With 4K Capability AND Bluetooth | eBay
Yamaha YHT 299 5 1 Component Home Theatre System With USB Active Subwoofer | eBay
Pioneer 5 1 AV Receiver With Dolby Truehd DTS HD Master Audio Ultra HD 4K Pass | eBay
Pioneer 5 1 AV Receiver With Dolby Truehd DTS HD Master Audio Ultra HD 4K Pass | eBay

BRAND-ONKYO,YAMAHA,PIONEER,DENON

I understand pic quality jargon..but Audio technical i understand less..so I dont know which one is better..I dont have time to go for individual demo, even after demo, I will not understand it..so I need the MOST help in choosing this
I want a quality & clearity in audio..so I can watch movies with good audio experience.
1) Which Brand /model should be best for my requirements?
2) I have read some threads about YAMAHA in forum..people are satisfied with it..
so I reserched about yamaha..& I got 4 option in my BUDGET
YHT-196 -PRICE AROUND 26K
YHT-299-36K
YHT-2910- 41K
YHT-1810-30K
I couldnt understand specifications of those audio quality etc
so which oen would be better
I want a system which can attach with my bd player & laptop & give good quality & clearity of sound..
I dont like to play in high volume ..I dont need blutooth/wifi etc
so please suggest a good HT syestem with avr in low budget as low as possible
Thanks

Are you planning for a 5.1 HTiB or buy an AVR separately and buy a 5 .1 speakers and woofer separately ?

Hi
I will play mostly movies with my Blue ray player..But I have some rare movies on my HDD..As I am not fan of action/horror movies , rather I am intrested in gems of WORLD cinema in which Irani & italian cinema is my favourite..its difficult to get in DVDS..so those films are only in HDD..so those movies should also play on BIG SCREEN
I have 2 laptop Which are used with HD
these are interfaces of my laptop-1
3 x USB 2.0
HDMI
VGA
LAN
Headphone/microphone combo jack
Microphone input
audio output-Dolby Advanced Audio v2, High Definition Audio
AUDIO & VIDEO
Graphics Processor Intel HD Graphics

I think it has HDMI..& its picture size is 16:9, & its show HD quality video
so Can I use it as playing my HDD movies?
What kind of cabel do i needed for it?
What all kind of other cabels Do I need for other connections?..
Laptop to projector? BD player to projector? HT SYSTEM/av RECeiver to BD player ? etc? Please do tell
thanks

Below is the way you connect all the equipment:

Blu-ray Player to AVR using HDMI Cable, Connect the cable to HDMI IN port of AVR
Laptop to AVR using HDMI Cable, Connect the cable to HDMI IN port of AVR
AVR to Projector using HDMI Cable, Connect the cable from HDMI OUT of AVR and to HDMI IN of Projector.
No other cables are required, Audio and Video both will be carried out by HDMI cable only.

Cheers,
Aditya

Thanks A lot Aditya Bro for your generous help

I will ask lot of questions before buying them,so I will bother you more in coming days
Regarding your ONKYO system ,I am sorry i couldnt take it..As I am very much possessive & have a very bad habit of buying exclusively & new products.
Even When I was young, i was very possessive about my personal electronic equipments..One day, My cousin used my WALK MAN of AIWA brand, he used it one day, i couldnt refuse due to hesitation..but when he gave me back..I refused & I told him to keep it..I loved that walkman very much & it was really very costly at that time & kind of rare & first of its kind..but I gave it to him easily as He used it ONCE..I loved that walkman so much but I gave it as i was very possessive..
I hope you understand My problem..
I have lot of questions in my above posts..
Hope i will able to make my system in next month
thanks a lot

No problem ... I totally understand, I just thought since u r on a budget I offered it as I was planning to sell it at very low price.
You are welcome to ask anything :)
I will be glad to help you out :)
Can't wait to see what you will come up with :D

Aditya

You will be surprised how much music listening will happen on a HT setup.
Choose a good AVR and L/R speakers. Most movies have background music that plays thru L/R channels. Other than this, if you are into watching music videos, you will still need a decent pair of front speakers.
Center, surrounds and sub-woofer make sense only for content that have such encoding. So you have time to put these together slowly as budget becomes available.

It would be a crime to have a good projection system and not have matching audio.

Raghu

Hi
Thanks for your detailed reply & sharing your precious time to give your suggestion.
As I said, If I can buy a good audio system because of Neighbours & I cannot do accoustic also..so now i think there will be no use of spending money on high end audio system
So I am planning a decent but proffesional Htib which have speakers include..
i have read good reviews about Yamaha HT in this forum so much..so I was thinking about it..but dont know which model is better?
thanks a lot

Thanks a lot Raghu bro for your suggestion
i can properly understand what you want to say & totally agree with it.
But I have a problem I cant play speakers in full volume as there is some old couple living in adjacent flat & I am going to keep my HT in the roo which has free big wall..that room has common wall to near flat
besides, I cant do acoustic treatment as I will have to go to new city in coming years..so thats a problem..
Yet I am thinking about a decent proffesional HT system under 50k budget
thanks

If your budget is 50K
I suggest go for a Onkyo HTS 5700 which is more than 50K but I think u can negotiate and see what they can offer. I have used Onkyo HTiB so I can suggest that and I am sure it will definitely reach ur expectations.
Another one would be Onkyo HTS 3700 if the budget is low, this one u can get below 30K. I think 3700 should be fine for now considering ur neighbours and other issues. IMO Go to a onkyo distributor or exclusive onkyo store. Dont go for a multi branded stores.
Firstly, have a demo of Yamaha and Onkyo 2 or 3 models each.
I strongly recommend u go and have a demo of both and if u have time try Denon and Pioneer as well. Without having a demo dont buy anything, especially if u r going for a HTiB.
These r just our opinions and suggestions, if u dont have time ... MAKE some time, maybe one brand a day. But dont buy without taking a demo.

Aditya

Good luck with your search for the suitable system for your apartment.
Hope you find something that will let you enjoy movies the way you like them.

As a word of caution, please do not any speaker system at loud volume levels. Not only will you damage the speakers and electronics, you will also irreversibly damage your hearing.

Cheers,
Raghu

^ Thats awesome digistar. Aditya and me are like good old veteran experts on this projector. Dont worry we can guide you on this very well you are in good hands.

And for HTIB, i would strongly suggest Yamaha 299 model if you can find . And Aditya, no i do not like the onkyo 5700. I have an year's experience with its older version 5500 and it totally sucked and felt totally overpriced. Onkyo's 3700, yes that one i am with you, is a lot better value for money and a perfectly sensible option but then again, yamaha is much more successful. lots of threads for the yamaha in this forum.

Digistar bro, note that what raghupb is recommending has got very little to do with full volume or acoustic treatment. The whole point is that for the same money, as compared to separate buys of branded speakers and AVRs, the HTIBs are a bit of compromise with limited adjustments and factory settings for its own speakers only. Even if you play with minimal volume and zero acoustics, the focussed and flexible options for sound quality, long term value and durability of your set up is way, way higher than any HTIB. The only caveat being that separate AVR and speaker buys at the minimum take about 1.5 times the budget of any HTIB. However any average experienced person will tell you that if you can afford it, there is literally no better way that exists.

Thanks HTfan bro for your kind advice
as you suggested AVR & seprate speaker will be better option..so could you please tell me a setup of this kind which is available at reasonable budget..I meant whats the lowest budget possible for this kind of setup..how much money MINIMUM I have to spend on that?
thanks

Thanks htfan, yes, we r good veteran experts on this projector :D
and surely u r in good hands :)
Yes htfan, I felt the same about Onkyo when comparing 5700 and 3700.

Digistar, its true that getting a AVR and speakers separately will be better than going for a HTiB. But I have a very little knowledge about the brands and prices in that range.
I used a budget HTiB for years and then jumped to high end systems directly, so have little knowledge about the budget AVR and Speakers.
Request htfan and others to please give in your views and suggestions regarding AVR and speakers to digistar so he can finalize quickly.

Cheers,
Aditya
