Looking to buy a audio system with speakers that can accept RCA audio input. Any used audio system (SONY/Philips/etc.,) The system can have (cassette or Disc unit not working) amp, tuner and speakers working.

I came across a SONY system with USB which I liked. But there is a strong Hizzzzzzz sound the moment I selected 'Aux' without connecting any external input.

I have a DVD player with USB input through which I can play Mp3 and connect the RCA audio out to the Aux input of the audio system.

BUYING, SELLING or TRADING indicates your automatic and mandatory acceptance of HiFiVISION.COM Trading Rules and Guidelines!

Do not blindly trust every seller or buyer! Protect yourself by following the below safe trading tips.

Safety Tips

For Buyers

  1. Always meet the seller at a safe location and inspect the item before purchasing. Following this one rule will help you avoid most scams.
  2. Watch out for unrealistic offers. If it appears too good to be true, it probably is. Unrealistic offers are used to motivate purchasers to make hasty decisions.
  3. Always verify the seller's credentials. Ask the seller to provide a photo ID and proof of address.
  4. Ensure that the product you are buying is not stolen or fake. Always ask for a purchase invoice.
  5. The best way to transact is to collect the item and pay at the same time. Never transfer funds or use a debit/credit/atm card to pay someone you do not know before collecting an item.
  6. Ask for clear information on condition of the item, price, payment and delivery method.
  7. Use only those payment methods that you trust and are familiar with. Never give out your financial information.
  8. It is recommended to purchase items directly from the seller.
  9. Always test the functioning of the item before purchase.
  10. Do your research on comparative prices for the product.

For Sellers

  1. Try to take the full payment at the time of the delivery. Remember to use a safe location to meet.
  2. Watch out for fake currency and money orders. Be aware that banks will not honour fake currency/money order and will hold you responsible for it.
  3. Verify the buyer’s credentials if necessary.
  4. Ensure that your product meets the features you list in your ad to avoid any misunderstanding with the buyer.
  5. It is your responsibility to prove that the product you are selling is genuine and not stolen by providing the necessary proof of purchase.
  6. Do not share your financial information except the one required for payment.

I would recommend saving up a little bit more and buying one of these. Way better performance than any old hifi system.

Indeed, I have used the Logitech before and it punches way above its price.

How is the F&D ?

btw the Logitech can be had for 5k so in the Op's budget.

The F&D is very impressive. It's used as a home theater primarily by the wife with a PJ. She did not want a lot of wires and 5.1 or 7.1 setup, and I did not think a soundbar or computer speakers would do justice along with a PJ, so this was (and is) a very nice compromise.

Good enough bass, voice is clear and also the ambient sounds are also easily heard, and the best part is they are placed adjacent to the PJ screen, so the wife is very happy too.

Music wise too they are pretty good. I've used them a fair bit with an Echo Dot, fit the bill perfect for streaming services.

The reason to go for a component system is, quite ideal for listening old mp3 (natural stereo sound). The woofer setup in present speakers is creating a kind of boom and quite artificial. Old Sony/Philips system comes with equaliser settings that we can play with. Also, I can connect TV audio output. A tuner (Radio) with display.

Searching in Quikr. Can we trust OLX ads?

The logitech come with bass control knob so can tune down the base sound.

What DVD player is this ? some old Phillips DVD players had music setting as well on the DVp player for some basic equalizer presets. if i recall correctly.

Quikr and olx can be trusted only on face value. You must contact them and check the Equipment before you exchange it with money.

to get a Separates ( amp and Speakers ) for 5 k is a challenge but with luck you may find one.

Well, I have bought few & also sold audio equipment on these sites.

I recommend that you personally check the equipment if it's feasible & then take the call.

If not, talk to the seller, probe him well about the product until you get the clarity. In most cases, in the midst or after the conversation, you can judge by yourself if you need to proceed.

One more thing, if you come across "old" gear that is not being regularly used/kept unused since ages, I suggest that you rule out any thought of purchase.

Thanks!

I have a Sony 5.1 speaker set, which comes with active sub woofer, 5 wired speakers, and remote. Served me well with movies, music and TV. I am not using it much now a days, so available for sale.

Revert if interested.
