Hi friends!
I need your help n advice.
I am a complete novice in my knowledge about music system.

My room size is about 200 square feet.
I am planning to buy a Sony Bravia KDL-40EX700
Ideally Music system is kept below the TV, but in my case it will be 4 meters away from the TV. So what type of cabling will have to be done?
Will 1 HDMI cable take care of everything?

What type of music system should I buy.
Which AVR
What speakers. 2.1 or 5.1

Thank you for all the advice. I am obliged.

Regards

 Wondering why there is no responce!

How about a 2.1 Channel Stereo Integrated Amplifier.
Please suggest some brand in the range of 15K

What book shelf speakers to go with...

Has anyone exprience Panda Audio....its a Lamington road

:signthankspin:

hmmm

no responses because it seems youre really confused with what you want
you need to research a bit and know what you want
then you may recieve some advice

currently youve just thrown yourself out there asking for us to decide for you.
now this confuses us!

1 HDMI will take care of everything well if you are gonna buy an AVR( i think im a noob at audio video)

also if you are looking for 2.1 you dont need a recievr only an integrated amp

if looking for 5.1 then you would need an AVR

also is your aim Movies and music or mostly just music
if its the former then yes an AVR is the right choice

what is your overall budget?
speaker wise and amplification wise

15k would probably get you a used Int amp or a new Norge 1000 concerto gold
though i dont think it has a sub out ( pleae confirm)

if your goal is only movies i guess Panda will do
but otherwise there are better options for a little more money

the cheapest decnt AVR you could get is probably a 5.1 onkyo

well... i suggest buddy, wait for the package deals in the market. diwali is round the corner.
ezone next etc will have any basic avr+5.1 ht package for 20-25k.
thats the least i wud charge if i was making that many machines of good quality.
anyway. go for stereo after u have seasoned urself. for the beginning u can use this setup for basic music n ear developement.
tv invariably isnt too personal a gadget and u d seldom be playing it on loud volumes.
dont go for unnecessarily high volume system for exorbitant price.

A Big thank you to everyone!

Yes I was confuced, but now it has started to make some sense.
I have also made serious efforts to look for my answers in other postings.

I will go by your advice for a 2.1 Channel Stereo Integrated Amplifier.
I have checked some of them like...

Onkyo A-5VL
Anthem Intergrated 225 Stereo Amp
Sherwood
Topping TP20 tripath 2020 amplifier
Leben - CS-300
Lithos

I will find out the cost of these Intergrated ams and will post the price.

I am not in hurry so will wait till Diwali or some offer.

Hi Sunny,
Which HTS 3300 are you talking about.

Onkyo HT-S3300
or
Philips HTS3300
both are 5.1 home theatre.

I think i will go for a 2.1 Integrated Amp system
