Dear All,

I was just browsing around the Parts-Express site and thought of building a DIY speaker system with the help of some expert. The drivers for my dream speaker system is

1. Woofer - Dayton Audio ST385-8 15" Series II Woofer

2. Midrange 1 - Dayton Audio PK165-8 6" Professional Kevlar/Paper Cone Midrange

3. Midrange 2 -Dayton Audio PK165-8 6" Professional Kevlar/Paper Cone Midrange

4.Tweeter - Dayton Audio RS28F-4 1-1/8" Silk Dome Tweeter

The cost of above drivers is around $350 ~ 20K INR. Now I need to build a crossover, cabin and other accessories.

And I wish these speakers to have a freq response of 20-40kHz and a sensitivity of 100db :D

This is just my dream.. :)

Just had a conversation with Bibin, who does DIY speakers as a hobby(http://www.hifivision.com/diy/25319-my-new-diy-project-3-way-floorstander.html). He said that I can actually build a speaker system with two 10" woofers, one 6" mid and one 1.25" tweeter. He said there is no need for 2 mid and 15" woofer would be too much for a home audio setup.

He also recommended the possibility of having an active crossover with 3 separate amps for low, mid and high frequencies.
